The Camp, entitled “Finding your Way,” offers a wide range of outdoor activities
including rock climbing, rappelling, kayaking, and hiking as well as a few surprises
to be named later.
This month’s feature: Rock Climbing / Rappelling
On the Rappelling Wall participants are supervised and instructed in the safe use of the rappelling/climbing equipment and techniques. The rappelling/climbing wall is a natural rock face with the opportunity to rappel up to 60 feet. While these activities are great challenges, they are rewarding at all levels. There will be workshop-style interactive sessions and youth driven discussions with the aim of creating an open dialogue and promoting youth involvement. The combination of spiritual enrichment and outdoor experiences is designed to foster personal growth and promote development.
“This camp is the perfect place for youth to express their opinions and thoughts as well as for them to learn and enhance their knowledge in the area of Islam. Such discussions in combination with the various outdoor activities will allow for youths to grow individually and as a group.” – Salma Dewji

With the motto ‘finding your way’ the objective of the Summer Camp is clear: to support and develop the youth participants in the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual spheres of life. The Camp is for youth ages 15-30 and will be held July 1st – July 4th, 2008.
